Diabetes

In January, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It has been a roller coaster ride since then! In the past three months, I have had to take insulin shots, discovered what I can and what I can't eat, I have gotten an insulin pump, learned how to change the site, gotten a sensor, learned how to put it in and have dealt with various high and low blood sugars (54 being the lowest and 373 being the highest). Hopefully, now that I have my pump and sensor, things won't be so hectic and I can relax a little knowing that if I was able to manage the first few months of this craziness, I can handle the rest of my life (or at least the rest of this year). We'll see where technology takes us.

"I'm Stuck"

My dad went out of town today, but as he was about to leave, he and my mom were talking about some moving details. I got bored, so I started playing with my necklace. I slowly stated moving up my face, once I got past my ears, I was done, but a new problem arose. I couldn't get it back down again. I let out a quiet little cry, "I'm Stuck."

I was able to get it off without cutting it, somehow, but it gave everyone a laugh, even me!! : )

Westlake Duck Race

The Westlake Duck Race is tomorrow. Everyone purhcased a duck and you could decorate it any way you wanted, ANY WAY! I decorated mine as a pirate duck and I decorated my sister's as a sailor. We will race them in a miniature swimming pool tomorrow and whoever wins the race gets a surprise. There are other categories you can win a surprise in, like, wackiest duck. We'll have to wait and see what happens!!
